“Mental health problems don’t define who you are.
They are something you experience.
You walk in the rain and you feel the rain, but, importantly, you are not the rain.”
–Matt Haig
Most of the people I work with are trying to hold a lot together. They have jobs, families, expectations, responsibilities but feel like something inside just isn’t settling. Maybe it’s anxiety that won’t turn off, moods that swing too wide, or a sense of burnout that sleep and vacations don’t fix. If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone, and you’re exactly the kind of person I help.
I’m a dual-certified Family and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, and my work sits at the intersection of medicine and mental health. I believe good care means looking at the whole person, not just the symptoms, but the story behind them. Sometimes that means medication, sometimes therapy, often both, but always collaboration, transparency, and respect.
In addition to my own practice, I’ve partnered with several therapy offices across Virginia to bring that collaborative model directly into their care. This allows therapists and prescribers to actually work together in real time to align goals, share insights, and make sure patients feel supported from every angle.
My goal is to make mental health care feel less like a system and more like a partnership. If you’re looking for a provider who will listen, explain the “why” behind every recommendation, and walk with you through the process, you’ve come to the right place.
I have virtual and in-person visit availability with offices in Newport News, Alexandria, and soon Gloucester, VA.
